Facing the Giants

Ftg_1This movie has only recently begun to generate national buzz, but it has been creating a firestorm of grass-roots support since its debut at the end of September.  Facing the Giants is an independent film created by two staff members of Sherwood Baptist Church in Albany, Georgia.  What makes this film irresistible is that it was shot with one camera, a volunteer cast, and on a shoestring budget.  It is also some of the best film making I have seen this year!  I usually don’t like religious film, finding it too "us vs them", but this football movie tells a story of faith and determination and is entertaining and well-made!  It has finally found its way into the Chicago suburbs, playing at AMC Cantera in Warrenville and AMC Yorktown in Lombard.  Take the time to check it out.
