‘nviting

Letteri260
Today I stopped at a grocery store on the way back to the office from a meeting.  I had humus and healthy tortillas in my basket while waiting in line to check out.  The lady in front of me looked at my selections and commented about eating healthy.  I saw an opportunity and handed her one of NorthStar’s invite cards for our American Idle series on health.  We chatted for a while (she wanted to know if Paula Abdul was coming to service…) and then parted ways, with a new friend if I see her at The Star.

Not too long ago I would have been afraid to give her an invite card.  Afraid she would be offended, would think I was "pushy", or something else.  But then I got over myself!

I think we all need to take the "I" out of "Invite".  Don’t worry about how you feel – just " ‘nvite " people to church, or to a party, or your small group.   They won’t think you’re stupid, most won’t get offended, and they will probably be glad you took the time.

Go ahead – ‘Nvite someone today!
