Whether or not the iPhone lives up to the hype, I have been interested in the legal dispute that surrounded its debut. It seems Cisco systems has an iPhone on the market already… a VoIP product. Apple, aware of the dispute, went ahead with the announcement anyway. Why? Apple pioneered the "i" brand: iMac, iPod, iLife, etc… it’s Apple’s thing. So, presumably, Steve Jobs decided to go ahead and let the controversy and legal issues work themselves out.
I think that’s cool… sometimes, you have to do what common sense and creativity demands, and handle the issues as they come up.
