Q Day 1 Wednesday pt 2

To finish up Wednesday, Chris Seay of Ecclesia Church in Houston confronted the great American myth "When I get what I want, I’ll be happy".  Consumerism is at the heart of most discontent… including church.

Blake Mycoskie (of Amazing Race fame) talked about giving back to the world through Tom’s Shoes.   For every pair of these cool, trendy shoes sold here in the states, a child in Latin America gets a free pair!  The gospel in action.

Mark Rogers talked about responsible political voice, and Josh Jackson addressed the use of art and God’s name (art or propaganda)?

David Bastone addressed the revolting issue of modern day slavery… an act that is sadistically still alive and well in America today.

Jon Foreman, the lead singer of Switchfoot, gave a private acoustic concert, and everyone else screened "Bella" a great indie film… but I was all in and headed back to the hotel for some shut eye after the concert.  More tomorrow.
