AT&T ticks off Carey estate

Not only are these AT&T commercials annoying, but they are offensive as well… or so says Dutchie, the widow of Chicago Cubs color man Harry Carey.

It seems that AT&T got permission to use Harry’s likeness to promote their service by promising the Carey estate that they commercials would “commemorate his honored place in Chicago Cubs baseball history”. Hey AT&T executive – Have you seen the commercial?

I guess the lesson learned is this:probably not a smart idea to mock one of the most endeared and iconic figures in the 2nd City in order to sell phone service!
