My favorite show right now is Mad Men on AMC.
The drama about life in 1960’s Manhattan focusses on the lives of the workers in Sterling-Cooper, a fictitious ad agency in the very transitional year 1960. The writing is superb, and the characters complex. I just finished watching the last of Season One’s encore broadcasts (Sundays at 11 CDT on AMC). The new season is scheduled to start this summer.
Sexual politics, smoking, and alcohol use all reflect the period in Manhattan. But what I love best is the costuming. I love classic men’s style… the skinny lapels and ties, the french-cuffed white shirts, and the traditional suit fabrics.
